Midnight Hell was created for the Itch.Io game jam by 2 people with huge love for retro gaming.

The game is still in development and we provide here with first public alpha version. We are working on new features and we will publish a new build soon.

Its kinda fun, but i think the instructions could be clearer and there could be some ambient noise rather than just the sound of shots and monsters,but its pretty nice!

That was suitably unsettling! Atmosphere is exactly perfect, right down to that synth horror soundtrack.

A couple things I'm not sure about:

  1. How does magic work? do I just get upgrades at a steady rate? If so, what does the second one do?
  2. Do those bugs do anything besides make everything red and wobbly?
  3. Did you mean "kill all living things"?
